As our new Graduate in Landfill and Aftercare Management, you’ll build your knowledge of the life cycle and operation of landfill sites and aftercare management. Developing your knowledge and experience in coordinating waste management procedures, permitting and planning regulations ensuring our full compliance with current waste disposal, handling and transportation legislation is a core aspect of the role.
You’ll be liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, such as private waste collection companies, environment bodies, senior management and other business functions including engineering, finance and waste assessment. You’ll support and shadow site supervisors and unit managers with a view to providing operation support and be involved in key operational projects, compiling data and evidence to support future business case opportunities.

What we are looking for
You’ll have an understanding of environmental and health and safety legislation, permitting and regulations whilst possessing an understanding of the principles of waste management.
As our ideal Landfill and Aftercare Management Graduate, you’ll be a strong communicator and relationship builder, resilient and self-motivated. You’ll be adaptable and able to work in an environment where structure is not always available, and priorities can change. You’ll be able to balance conflicting priorities whilst delivering against deadlines. You’ll have a good attention to detail and able to manage data, producing reports.
Knowledge and experience of the waste management industry would be desirable but not essential.
The role will be based at Pilsworth and Bridgwater, therefore, a willingness to relocate for the duration of the Graduate Programme would be advantageous and as travel to other UK sites will be part of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential.
As our Landfill and Aftercare Management Graduate, you’ll have graduated (or be graduating by October 2019) in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, waste management or engineering.
