Graduate – Development Control

Job description

This is an exciting time to join Worcestershire County Council. We have big ambitions and we are looking for our future leaders to help us to achieve them. Our aim is to create a World Class Worcestershire and if you have the talent, skills, knowledge and drive, to help make this happen, then this is where you come in…

Joining our Graduate Scheme will give you the opportunity to put everything you have learned into action. We will support you to gain the experience of applying your education and knowledge whilst developing your leadership skills in ways which will have meaningful results for you, Worcestershire, its businesses, communities and residents.

You will have a passion for improving transport across the county by ensuring development is located in a sustainable location with appropriate access to services and facilities. You will be required to use your skills and knowledge to identify transport schemes, proposals and infrastructure requirements necessary to ensure that the transport and highway interests of all stages of development are delivered to an acceptable standard.

The Government is positively encouraging the development of housing and other infrastructure projects to provide affordable housing, amenities and transport across the UK. The Government has set a target of 300,000 new homes to be delivered across the country within the next four years. This is a fantastic opportunity to help facilitate this development in Worcestershire.

What we are looking for

You will need to have a passion and enthusiasm to match our own – in turn we offer an opportunity to develop your career in a forward looking environment that recognises and rewards effort.

Accepted degree subjects
