The Commercial Graduate will be the driving force behind Border’s breakthrough into the online market, setting up and developing Border’s online proposition. Supported by our online partner firm, the Commercial Graduate will be responsible for pulling together the wider Commercial and Operations teams to champion the Amazon business, driving sales to £1 million in year one, and to £5 million in three years’ time.
As part of the sales team, the Commercial Graduate will be responsible for building strong relationships with Amazon’s vendor managers, using Amazon data and wider market insight to identify opportunities and risks, forecasting and driving sales. They will be customer focused, coordinating the wider operations, supply chain and commercial teams to champion online customer’s needs.
The Commercial Graduate will work closely with the brand team to Champion Border’s brand presence on Amazon, through content optimisation and activity planning, using Border product and brand imagery to build a Border catalogue online which appeals to our consumers.
The role is for an initial 18-month fixed term contract, at which point it will be reviewed with a view of creating a permanent vacancy within the sales team.

This role is part of Border’s new Rising Talent Early Careers Programme (ECP), designed to turn high potential employees into future leaders at Border. Individuals on the programme will be given a hands-on role as well as a strong development plan, including access to a senior mentor, regular 1-2-1s with your manager and formal and informal learning opportunities.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has recently graduated from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree – a business related degree would be advantageous but is not essential. The individual will have strong commercial acumen, proficiency using Microsoft office, excellent numerical and analytical skills and great attention to detail.
Above all they will be a real go-getter with a strong drive for success and a passion for premium brands. They will be proactive and able to take initiative with a strong desire to learn and continuously improve themselves. They will be able to adapt to build relationships both externally and internally at Border, and to plan and prioritise a busy workload, working well under pressure.
Experience in a commercial role, such as sales or marketing, would be ideal but is not essential. Project management experience and/or an understanding of selling on Amazon would be distinctly advantageous.
