Executive Assistant

Job description

Waltham Forest, MJ Council of the Year and the first London Borough of Culture, is looking for a bright and ambitious graduate to work directly alongside the Strategic Director for Corporate Development as their Executive Assistant.

You will play a key part in this influential and innovative directorate which is responsible for transformation, strategy, policy, employee experience, ICT and digital, communications and culture.

Based in vibrant Walthamstow you will provide high-level executive support to the Strategic Director which, along with core PA duties, involves project support, events and business management, and communications. In carrying out these responsibilities you will find yourself involved in all areas of the business and will gain a rare and valuable insight into senior management and political leadership in a large and complex organisation.

With the Council’s strong track record of providing a variety of career pathways for graduates, opportunities for development and expansion in the role and beyond will arise and you will be supported to pursue these.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be smart, resourceful and friendly with great problem-solving skills and a “can-do” attitude. You will be extremely well organised, able to prioritise and great at building relationships with all levels in the organisation. You will be able to quickly develop an intuition for the director’s needs and expectations, and a strong understanding of their priorities for the business.
