Full Stack Engineer KTP Associate

Job description

Today Translations in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University are seeking to recruit a high calibre graduate as a Full Stack Engineer. You will be integral to a major strategic development for the company developing an innovative digital platform that will support the management of the next generation of gig-economy contractors.

As part of a dedicated team you will lead the software design and development of this innovative new platform. Working closely with a user interaction designer and stakeholders within the company you will create the development and deployment architecture of a cloud based translation task management system. You will also design and develop the management system as a whole. The job will provide you with excellent prospects working on a high profile project, and a great opportunity to play a significant role in the company's growth.

As a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate you will be on the University payroll while working on a daily basis at Today Translations' company offices in Sheffield. You will also receive support in architecture design, software design and deployment from experts at Sheffield Hallam University.

The appointment carries a range of benefits including:

  • A competitive salary (plus incentives including a significant individual training budget). Reviews and bonus-based rewards will be assessed as the project progresses.
  • Residential off-site management training will also be provided free of charge.
  • As a University employee you will also be entitled to pursue a Masters level qualification, either as an MPhil or taught MS, at no cost.

Although the appointment is initially for 21 months for the right candidate it is likely that a permanent position will be available within the company upon successful completion of the project.

Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from all candidates irrespective of age, pregnancy and maternity, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, or marital or civil partnership status.

We particularly welcome applicants from underrepresented groups

For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a UK student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.
