As our new Graduate Civil Engineer within South West Water, you’ll provide support to the project management team and support delivery assurance to the business enabling it to meet its operational and long-term objectives. You’ll support and manage the delivery of water and sewerage related schemes to repair, improve or replace existing water infrastructure assets.
As part of the Graduate Civil Engineer role, you’ll ensure projects are delivered according to best practice engineering and project management techniques and standards appropriate to the scale and type of projects and delivered to the identified business benefits that also comply with legislative, statutory financial and company requirements.

What we are looking for
You’ll have good awareness of CDM regulations, contract management, environmental legislation, H&S legislation and engineering requirements.
Experience of delivering projects to cost, quality and time parameters in an engineering environment through work experience or projects during academic studies is key alongside practical experience of translating business analysis, requirements definition and business case production into practical implementation.
The successful Graduate Civil Engineer will be a strong communicator and able to build relationships at all levels both internally and externally. You’ll have strong organisation and planning skills, able to balance conflicting priorities and work to deadlines, whilst also being able to think innovatively identifying opportunities and risk.
Knowledge or experience of drinking water and waste water industry sector would be advantageous but not essential. Similarly, developing and implementing multiple projects including providing assurance and governance.
There will be some travel involved in this graduate role, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
We’re looking for someone who is graduating this year or has graduated in civil engineering or wider engineering disciplines.
