Graduate Energy Trader/Analyst

Job description

This role represents a dynamic opportunity in a pioneering business supporting the energy transition in the UK. The business is established as a market leader in the development and operation of flexible generation assets, in particular battery storage. It is backed by a major energy player with a worldwide reputation.

You will be at the commercial heart of the business in the Trading and Market Analysis team responsible for providing optimisation services to flexible generation assets and creating direct P&L from proprietary trading.

You will have the opportunity to learn from, and work with motivated, dedicated market experts who will give you the skills to manage complex data to inform good decisions that genuinely contribute to the success of the business.

  • Analyse market data to educate a buy and sell strategy in the UK Power auctions
  • Monitor real time energy market information and continuously adapt a trading strategy to maximise profits whilst also managing risks
  • Trade UK power contracts of material value on the exchange platform with regular frequency
