Job description

We are looking for a chartered civil or structural engineer to join the team to help with an expanding workload and to progress the practice. You must have a demonstrable interest in and knowledge of historic buildings, and be familiar with the SPAB philosophy of repair, and aspiring to CARE accreditation, and be familiar with structural design and calculations in all mediums. This is a rare opportunity for an Engineer wishing to progress a successful career in Engineering Conservation. The Appleby office is close to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks, with easy access to the A1 and M6. The Liverpool office is in the city centre. A driving licence is essential. The appointment is a permanent post and we are looking for a long term commitment. The salary will be commensurate with experience.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with an interest in historic buildings and an enthusiasm for keeping them standing. We work throughout the region so travel is involved, and working independently with scope for original thought is essential. As there are no codes in amy caese originality of thought and design is a requirement, so you need to be pragmatic and good at problem solving.
