Job description

Strategic Project Management

Assist with providing strategic project management services for all pre contract design stages including:

  1. Assist in defining client brief with other team members;
  2. Prepare written client brief for agreement and sign off;
  3. Prepare project execution plan;
  4. Prepare project programme and maintain throughout project;
  5. Assist in preparation of business cases for funding led projects;
  6. Establish surveys requirements in consultation with design team;
  7. Procure and manage project surveys i.e Site investigation / Measured building survey;
  8. Work with the design team member throughout RIBA Stages;
  9. Oversee planning applications and assist with the planning process;
  10. Work closely with project cost managers to ensure projects remain within client budget limits;
  11. Preparation of tender documents and co ordination of tender information;
  12. Preparation of contract documents for issue to contractor (in consultation with QS);
  13. Liaison with legal representatives on client behalf;
  14. Chase actions from design teams;
  15. Chairing of meetings and preparation of minutes;
  16. Attendance at client and board meetings;
  17. Develop and maintain project cashflow;
  18. Review & approve invoices correct for payment;

Construction Project Management

Provide assistance in the post contract stages delivering projects on site. Role includes:

  1. Establish site setup plans with contractor;
  2. Communicate phasing details to client;
  3. Managing contractor works on site;
  4. Weekly progress review meetings and report preparation;
  5. Chase actions from design teams;
  6. Liaise with end user for access requirements;
  7. Chairing of meetings and preparation of minutes;
  8. Attendance at client & board meetings;
  9. Approving payments;
  10. Administering contracts – JCT / NEC3;
  11. Preparing payment certificates for approval;
  12. Contract administration;
  13. Preparing and issuing contract administrators instructions;
  14. Control flow on information to client;
  15. Manage procurement of fit out;
  16. Manage hand over and soft landing process with client;
  17. Maintain and update risk register on a regular basis;

What we are looking for

  • Skills: MS Office, MS Project, Construction or Property related degree preferable
  • Full driving licence
  • DBS Check (or willing to undertake DBS Checking via Update Service)
  • Experience: graduate – some relevant experience beneficial
