University of Warwick
What do we stand for?
Created in 1965, the University was set up to increase access to higher education. Nearly 60 years later, we have become a world-leading University at the forefront of global research and teaching excellence. Our culture is formed on a community that allows us all to operate in mutual respect and that equality of opportunity is accessible to all.
With Coventry being the UK’s City of Culture for 2021, we’re a principal supporter helping our local community through a number of collaborations with community groups, cultural groups, charities and venues.
We have ambitious diversity targets, our social inclusion targets include by 2030 to:
- Eliminate the gender, ethnicity and disability pay gap.
- Eliminate the black attainment gap.
- Have at least 50% of women in our most senior Academic grade.
- Have at least 25% of BAME people (incl. 25% black) in our most senior grade (all areas).
Environmental sustainability is core to us. Our ambition is to make the University a leader in sustainable education and well as sustainable living and working. We’ve already significantly reduced our carbon emissions and we continue to improve the energy efficiency of our campus.
