The Secretariat team act as a resource for all Royal Households, providing centralised coordination and planning in support of thousands of official engagements and visits every year.

Joining this professional team, you will help to coordinate official activity spanning all members of The Royal Family. You will work alongside colleagues from different teams, helping to ensure a well-planned and varied programme of engagements and overseas visits.

Through the use of engagement planning tools, you will help to deliver relevant and timely information for engagements in the UK and Commonwealth, and assist with research and analysis on national issues and events.

You will also have the opportunity to be involved in a range of projects that ensure a consistent and strategic approach to our programme planning processes.

As a central resource and a key point of contact, you will also support interactions with the Commonwealth Realms and the Lord Lieutenants.

Supporting the team’s administrative processes, you’ll help with information access requests and general record-keeping, constantly looking for new ways to improve efficiencies.

It's a fast paced environment, and the varied work of the team will both challenge and develop you, but knowing that your work underpins teams across all Households will drive you to succeed.

What we are looking for


Educated to degree level, or equivalent, you will have experience in research and analysis, either in an academic or workplace context, and will be keen to develop your career.

You will also have knowledge of current domestic and global affairs, along with a good knowledge of UK constitutional and political processes.

With excellent attention to detail and an analytical approach, your qualitative and quantitative research skills are second-to-none. You also have strong administration and IT skills.

Great written and verbal communication skills will be vital, and you will be confident liaising and building working relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, with the ability to influence those around you to achieve results.

Being highly organised, you are adept at balancing a busy and varied workload, prioritising and delivering to multiple deadlines.

Most important, however, is your self-motivation and willingness to assist, and your drive to deliver exceptional results in all that you do.
