Software and Machine Learning Engineer

Job description

Netrologix is looking for a motivated software and machine-learning engineer to work on a novel force/pressure sensor called Nanskin, which our company has developed to start July 2018. The role will be supported for the first 12 months by Teesside University who will provide mentoring support from experienced academics in the Machine Learning field.

The candidate will be working on developing the software (GUI) and implementing machine-learning algorithm for RoboPack, an advanced robotic manipulator integrated with Nanskin for the inspection and packing of fresh produce. This novel technology will enable never-before-possible haptic and tactile feedback for robots, prosthetics, and smart surfaces. The candidate will be working on developing software for the Nanskin sensor and processing/gathering large data set from the robotic end-effector system. The project gives an opportunity for the candidate to work with cutting-edge technology that will solve real world problems that industry face on a daily basis. The developer will divide their work between front-end graphical user interface (GUI) design and implementing machine-learning algorithms.

The role is full time working mainly at the Sedgefield location but may occasionally be asked to travel to clients on-site address or Netrologix’s main office in Edinburgh, Scotland (reasonable travel subsistence costs will be paid for by Netrologix).
