Structural Engineer

Job description

The job mainly consists of carrying out strength of material calculations for the design of steel masts supporting antennas. This involves frequency, fatigue, foundations and connections calculations.

Motivating salary and benefits including 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, pension scheme, potential annual bonus and support to personal professional development

Working hours: 40 hours a week (8:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday, currently working on a three-days-in-the-office / two-days-remotely basis)

Starting date: May, June, July, August or September (to be decided with the successful candidate)

What we are looking for

  • To reinforce our design team of four structural/mechanical engineers and three designers, we are seeking an engineer with a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent) in either structural, mechanical or civil engineering.
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team but also be capable of using his/her own initiative.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with the software programs we use (StaadPro, Tekla, Solidworks, Simulation, MasterSeries and Idea-Statica) would be appreciated but is not essential.
  • If you are motivated to work in a technical environment, if you are rigorous, organised and willing to work efficiently in a friendly atmosphere, you are the person we need.
