Job description

Reporting to the Technical Manager the role includes:

  • Planning, cultivating, recording and reporting of vegetable variety trials on and off site, throughout the UK.
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of Sakata’s key crops.
  • Organising external marketing activities including industry shows and conferences, actively participating to represent to best effect the company and its products.

This role has considerable scope to career progression for the right candidate.

Sakata is fully integrated company with breeding, production, logistics and marketing departments. In the UK Sakata operates a subsidiary company responsible for all activities from research through to sales. Located in south Lincolnshire we operate from modern offices including research and trials facilities.

Person requirements

The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic with good communication, interpersonal and IT skills. Willing to work across a broad range of diverse tasks and environments. This role will require a person who can work within a small team and on their own.

Ideally combining a technical interest in the products with commercial business sense.

An agricultural/horticultural or science qualified candidate would be ideally suited. Full training will be provided.
