This is a new academic course that pursues the advanced analysis of cinema. It assumes that students have already attained a degree of expertise and will deal with the familiar in a more sophisticated manner and the unfamiliar in complex theoretical, historical and material terms. Among other subject matter, this course embraces close analysis of a related series of films, film theory and history, and cult and exploitation cinema.
A highly significant aspect of this course is its inclusion of a dedicated module about research methods, which will provide a solid foundation for the dissertation and any further research.
