2016 has seen Anglia Ruskin University listed in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) World University Rankings for the first time – being named as one of the top 350 institutions in the world and joint 38th best in the UK. The rankings, headed by the University of Oxford, are the only global university performance table to judge world-class universities across all their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

We are research-lead


Our research is “world leading” and our strengths encompass the arts, business, English language and literature, history, music, law, psychology, social work and social policy. We’re proud to educate the future professionals that will shape our world. We’ve six research institutes dedicated to tackling pressing issues, from, conserving our precious natural resources to saving lives through pioneering surgery.

Real-world facilities

As one of the largest universities in the East of England, you can certainly explore your options. Our campuses are located across four vibrant cities in the UK; Cambridge, Chelmsford, London and Peterborough. We've invested over £100 million into new facilities over the past five years and plan to invest a further £91 million over the next five years to provide our students with learning environments they’re likely to come across in the real world of work. At ARU you'll be fully supported by our friendly, award-winning Services Team who provide advice on all aspects of student life, such as money, accommodation, health & well-being, study skills and employability.

On the day you can: apply for a postgraduate course during your visit - successful applicants for non-interviewing courses, subject to professional body requirements will receive an offer from our Admissions Team, talk to course leaders and/or directors of research from our Faculties, view our extensive campuses and facilities, get advice on funding, fees and your career development options.
