Entry requirements

A recognised primary medical degree that has been approved by the General Medical Council which has been awarded by an institution listed on the Avicenna Directory for Medicine. To be included on the Avicenna directory, an institution must have a physical address in the country awarding the qualification. If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 7.0 ( Academic level), including a written English academic test as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University. Our published entry requirements are a guide only and our decision will be based on your overall suitability for the course as well as whether you meet the minimum entry requirements. Other equivalent qualifications may be accepted for entry to this course, please email admissions-fms@anglia.ac.uk for further information.

Course content

This course is designed for doctors working in primary or secondary care. You’ll focus on developing your clinical and research skills, strengthening your ability to bring about positive change, solve problems and ensure the highest standards of care and safety for all patient groups.

You’ll build your teamwork skills, best practice and multi-professional working while increasing your understanding of the complexity and global context of modern healthcare. With support from experienced tutors, you’ll explore your own practice while adapting your learning to your own needs and context. The course will aim to give clinical knowledge and skills to medical graduates and to introduce you to the culture and practices of NHS. International medical graduates who are willing to benefit from a research degree after this course are particularly encouraged to apply.
