Course content

Research focusing on investigations involving the application of advanced experimental and computer modelling techniques to a range of engineering themes where a multi-disciplinary approach is advantageous. Projects may be closely aligned to industrial needs or be of a more speculative nature.

Department specialisms

Precision cutting processes, mechanisms of coated steel corrosion in a range of construction environments, abrasion mechanisms of concrete, petrography and colour image analysis.

Information for international students

IELTS 6.0 (5.5 minimum in each section) or TOEFL 550 / 213 is required for applicants whose first language is not English.

Fees and funding

EPSRC and industry funding may be available only to UK / EU students. There are no scholarships available for non-EU students.
