Course content

Databases, decision support systems and intelligent knowledge-based systems, pattern recognition, genetic and evolutionary programs, natural language processing, computer models of psychological classification and decision-making, distributed and parallel systems, computer communications and security, mathematical approaches, including algebraic computing, general relativity and cosmology, and number theory.

Department specialisms

A variety of research areas, including artificial intelligence, databases, distributed systems, and computer security are represented.

Information for international students

IELTS 6.0 (5.5 minimum in each section) or TOEFL 550 / 213 is required for applicants whose first language is not English.

Fees and funding

EU, National Institutes of Health in America, NHS and industry may offer funding to UK/EU students. Scholarships are not normally available to non-EU students.
