Course content

Research degrees (MPhil or PhD) are conducted within four stages, with the criteria for each requiring satisfactory completion before progression to the next stage:

1. Initial agreement on the academic suitability of the candidate and the relevance of the proposed general area of study;
2. Submission of a detailed Research Proposal (typically 8 to 12 pages);
3. A Qualifying Report;
4. The Thesis itself.

Information for international students

Very good knowledge of English required. Non-native speakers of English should have either a score of 600 in TOEFL or 6.5 in IELTS

Candidates will be able to apply for AHRB funding and may also be eligible to apply for school and university awards if available;
