Students need a good undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific discipline; alternatively a qualification or experience which is acceptable as equivalent. For non-native English speakers there is the following minimum English Language requirement: an overall score of IELTS 6.0 with no individual score lower than 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 560 (paper-based) and a TWE (written score) of 4 or 220 (computer-based).

Course contentThis research Masters will equip you with confidence and competence in the latest research skills and allow you to apply for further research training (PhD) programmes or to directly apply for research positions in universities or research institutes. The course is composed of a taught component covering important generic skills such as literature searching, health and safety aspects, grant proposal writing, introduction to statistical manipulation of data (60 credits), and a research dissertation (120 credits). Your project plans will be developed as part of the generic skills component in association with your supervisor.
