  • Registration with the NMC/HCPC and proof of employment in a minor injury or pre hospital setting.
  • IELTS: 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) is required.

Course content

The programme is designed to facilitate and guide the student to care effectively and efficiently for critically ill patients and their families within the intensive care environment. The major focus is the provision of care in a holistic manner and will build on existing knowledge and skills to become knowledgeable practitioners in the dynamic intensive care setting.

This course is especially designed for practice nurses, especially those working or hoping to work in ICU.

Information for international students

Because this pathway is part-time and requires a current NMC registration and access to an intensive care environment, this pathway is not suitable for the international market.
