Course content

Actively involved in immune metabolic and clinical studies of diabetic patients and of the NOD mouse, an animal model of diabetes. Extensive scientific facilities; international reputation in insulin dependent diabetes. Major interest in the above specialism, using Europe's largest NOD mouse colony and the world's largest series of diabetic twins.

Members of the department have joint appointments with European universities (notably Rome) and there is an active interest in promotion of European studies.
