If you are a dental graduate, this programme offers you a comprehensive grounding in five key training areas: basic sciences and their application to modern day dental practice, principles of clinical issues in dentistry, principles of communication skills, principles of professionalism and principles of management and leadership.
The programme builds on your existing skills and knowledge and provides you with opportunities to improve your clinical and professional skills and to orientate them to that of a UK general practitioner.
Two pathways are available to you and both provide strong foundations for continuing postgraduate study. If you want to undertake the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties professional examinations (MJDF) you should apply for the core pathway. If you want both Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties professional examinations (MJDF) and the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE) or possible progression to a clinical MSc or MClinDent programme, we recommend that you take the enhanced pathway.
This programme will:
- Give you a comprehensive grounding in five key training areas: basic sciences and their application to modern day dental practice; clinical issues in dentistry; communication skills; professionalism; and management and leadership
- Allow you to choose from two pathways depending on your career plans.
