Entry requirements

A minimum of two years’ clinical experience after completion of your primary dental qualification. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential and non-native English speakers are required to have a minimum IELTS score of 7 or an IBTOEFL score of 100. Course content

Dental disease is the most common disease in the UK and many developed countries. This disease can be caused by small daily problems, but often leads to long-term suffering and loss of quality of life. This programme is designed for dental graduates who wish to pursue a career in oral medicine, either in primary or secondary care services or in a university setting. The programme will develop your knowledge, understanding and clinical skills in oral medicine and related topics. On this programme you will embark on clinical training, formal teaching and research activity. We enable you to understand basic sciences related to oral medicine and apply this to north and east London's unique clinical case mix. All the taught and clinical modules in the programme are core teaching. The research element of your programme involves a report or a literature review on a topic (chosen with the advice of your tutor) and a clinical audit report. This programme will: Provide you with clinical training, formal teaching and research activity Give you knowledge and skills appropriate for a career working in oral medicine in the UK or overseas We enable you to understand basic sciences related to oral medicine and apply this to north and east London's unique clinical case mix.
