Students are normally expected to have a strong first degree in a related subjected. Admission to the course is based on a portfolio of creative writing, and our estimate of your commitment and potential as a writer and ability to benefit from the course.

  • A unique tailor-made master’s experience in creative writing for those who feel they write between cultures, between genres and unexplored territories.
  • A course structured for independent field work and creative enquiry while being connected to an international group of peers and structured around regular contact with writers, tutors and editors.
  • Develop your sense of self as a writer and artist to understand the research potential of your art.
This course is for you if you are a writer interested in exploring your writing beyond your comfort borders, to complete a body of work near to publishable or performance quality while understanding how to position your work as a practice based researcher. Whether you’re an author, poet, essayist, spoken-word performer, translator, script-writer or scientist – you will explore your own creative ecology and voice in the burgeoning field of transnational creativity.
This course allows you to re-evaluate, creatively, borders of all sorts, whether creative, political, geographical, linguistic or genre and if you’re drawn to trespass borders of convention, this course is for you.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Firstly, this course is designed to advance your creative scope as a writer in your chosen medium and genre. Secondly, given the transnational perspective of the course coupled with the context of creative research, it prepares you for doctoral studies in the field of creative writing, but is also very useful for work within fields that demand knowledge about the significance of language, social development, international negotiation, the ethics of practice based research and much more.
