Candidates should have a First or Second Class degree and two references and/or, appropriate professional experience, other qualifications or achievements, as judged by the MA Media and Creative Enterprise team. Applicants are advised to read around the subject of media enterprise. International Students need a minimum IELTS level of 6.5.
Months of entry
The course is designed to help students understand the environment and the practices for cultural entrepreneurship, and in completing their studies students will be able to develop their own creative initiatives for research, practice or consultancy activities within the cultural industry sector.
The course takes a critical approach to investigating the realities of working in the cultural sector, as an aspect of the cultural ecologies research at the Birmingham Centre for Media and Culture Research. Previous students have gone on to work in marketing and in social media for companies such as England Athletics. They have also created their own businesses or freelance creative consultancies.
