Months of entry
This part-time PGCE course prepares you to teach children in either the 3 to 7 or 7 to 11 age ranges as a general primary teacher. It is a very practical course with around two thirds of the time spent in schools, mostly working with teachers and pupils, and around one third spent on your own study with regular training sessions in the university.
This part-time route is particularly appropriate for graduate career changers and for people who enjoy independent learning. You will begin your studies around Easter, a start date that is very effective for a four or five term completion (the most popular choices amongst part-time trainees). It is possible to extend the course for longer (six terms) or up to a maximum of three years.
