The LPC programme
The Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, known as the Legal Practice Course (LPC) gives you the essential training you need to become a qualified solicitor.
It’s your bridge between the academic world and professional life in a law firm, giving you the legal knowledge and skills to thrive in today’s market.
The MA (LPC with Business) programme
Today’s law firms demand a high level of commercial and business acumen from their trainees, so we’ve developed a new LPC to help you gain real strength in your knowledge and capabilities.
In addition to the standard LPC, BPP University students can study our unique Masters programme, the MA (LPC with Business). Designed in conjunction with BPP Business School and leading Law Firms, it is the only programme that combines the LPC with a Masters in Business, helping students stand out from the crowd when it comes to obtaining that all important training contract.
The MA (LPC with Business) covers the same core modules as the standard LPC with additional business modules and a Business Intelligence Project to engage students in substantial research and analysis. This project can be carried out as a purely paper based exercise or alternatively, students can complete a client placement and base the project on their experience.
Modules on the LPC include:
- Business Law and Practice
- Property Law and Practice
- Interviewing and Advising
- Practical Legal Research and Writing
- Professional Conduct, Regulation and Solicitors’ Accounts
- Wills and Administration of Estates
Additional modules for the MA (LPC with Business)
- Business Finance
- Business Intelligence Project
- Business Strategy
Students must also choose three optional electives and have the opportunity to specialize through non credit bearing modules such as Law as a Business and High Street Extra
