Course content

The PGCert in Human Nutrition is a 10-month course aimed to develop student’s understanding of human nutrition and the evidence surrounding nutrition in healthcare. It will provide students with distinct skills and knowledge of the benefits of nutrition and enable practitioners to become holistic in their approach to patients. Students will have the opportunity to observe in the BCOM nutrition clinic to gain clinical experience. This course will lead to a postgraduate award at Level 7. As a student, you will be taught through a combination of lectures, interactive tutorials and practical sessions, learning from the experience of the expert tutors who are running the course.

For osteopaths thinking of doing the course, getting a basic foundation knowledge of nutritional science is a good starting point for being able to assess and scrutinise the vast amounts of conflicting and confusing nutritional information that abounds in the public arena. This platform can be used as a stepping stone to further study, whether it is short courses or further academic qualifications.
