Course content

Our Career Leadership course has been approved by the Careers Enterprise Company to provide the knowledge and skills needed to effectively lead careers work in a school or college.

It will ensure that the leadership and management of careers provision in your school is in line with government policy and statutory guidance. It will also provide you with the resources and processes to provide young people with a high quality careers provision that will support their career progression and ambitions, and that achieves all of the eight Gatsby Benchmarks.

The University Certificate in Career Leadership course is ideal if you are a newly appointed school careers leader or have been doing the work of a careers leader for some time.

You will consolidate and build on your current experience and embed your knowledge and skills in the theoretical basis of careers work in your practice, so that you can improve, develop and grow your careers programme.

As a student at Christ Church studying for the University Certificate in Career Leadership, you will have access to the support and resources of a large, modern university, including high quality materials, academic support and both a dedicated library at Medway and Canterbury and an e-library accessible from any personal computer.

Our course is a blended learning course offering you flexibility to complete half of the learning sessions online using our virtual learning environment. Face-to-face teaching will take place at our Medway campus once each month. However, we have the facility to offer all of our sessions online - if necessary. In order to maximise your opportunities to network with other career leaders you will be a member of our Network4Careers, with networking meetings at Medway or live streamed to you each term.
