Entry requirements

A first class or upper second class honours degree in English or a relevant discipline is required. Holders of other qualifications will be considered individually.

International students whose first language is not English require an IELTS overall score of 7 with a 7 in reading and writing. International students can also be accepted if they have completed an English-medium degree with a significant research element.

The Masters by Research in English Literature provides the opportunity to undertake a personalised programme of study in a structured and supportive environment. As a research-­led programme it is inherently flexible, tutorials can be scheduled around other commitments and meaningful distance learning can be facilitated.
