A 2:1 Honours degree or higher in a relevant subject in the life sciences (e.g. Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Sports Science, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, etc.); or A lower second class Honours degree (2:2) combined with substantial other relevant practical healthcare skills and experience; or Qualifications and experience equivalent to the above. In addition, applicants must have: GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C in Maths and English language; preferably, some experience of health care (employed or voluntary). Where English is not the first language, applicants must have an overall IELTS score of 7.5 with no element score less than 7.0 (or the appropriate level in equivalent acceptable English Language qualifications). Successful applicants will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and satisfactory occupational health clearance.

The full-time (2 years) Postgraduate Diploma in Physician Associate Studies* is designed to equip you with the academic knowledge and practical skills to pursue a career as a Physician Associate in the Acute sector, for example in an Accident and Emergency department, or in the community setting such as General Practice.
Time spent in University at the Medway campus includes theoretical learning and simulated practice in the clinical Skills Labs. Approximately 50% of time is spent in supervised placements gaining hands-on experience.
Placements may be offered across Kent, Medway and the South East. Examples of placements include: General Practice; General Medicine; Acute Medicine; Emergency Medicine; Surgery; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Paediatrics and Mental Health.
On successful completion students are eligible to apply for membership of the Physician Associates Managed Voluntary Register (Faculty of Physician Associates at the Royal College of Physicians) and apply for roles within the NHS.

Fees and funding
The fees in year 1 are £9000.
In year 2 students will be eligible to apply for a £9000 bursary.
