PGCE Geography (Secondary)
Entry requirements
A good honours degree (2:2 or above) in Geography or a related subject, English and Maths at GCSE (grade C or above) or equivalent for Secondary (11-18), and to have passed the government's skills tests in literacy and numeracy. In addition to the academic requirements, you should also have a recommended period of at least ten days school experience in the year prior to application, preferably in a UK state school, observing the age group and curriculum relevant to the PGCE course for which an application is being made.

Course content
The 11-18 PGCE in Geography is an innovative and intensive nine month programme preparing graduates for the demands of teaching the 11-18 age range in the secondary sector. You will be awarded a PGCE and recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, enabling you to teach in schools. The course is organised in partnership with schools where you spend a total of 24 weeks teaching within the 36 week long programme.
