MBA overview

Are you an ambitious manager interested in driving positive business change, capitalising on advances in artificial intelligence, data mining and machine learning?

The AMBA-accredited MBA with Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Cardiff Business School provides a career-changing education taught by leading experts and innovators in business, management and AI. The programme was designed specifically for people with related work or technical experience and with the ambition to prioritise their personal and professional development. If you want to challenge yourself and your thinking and accelerate your progression to senior leadership roles, this is the MBA for you.

MBA career ready skills

Alongside students from a range of backgrounds and with diverse experiences, you’ll develop your business knowledge, increase your self-awareness and sharpen your ability as an effective and inspiring leader. You’ll also consider the wider commercial, social and environmental implications of decision-making in a variety of practical contexts and have the opportunity to understand the management challenges of the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning within business.

MBA real-world application

In addition, a range of practical opportunities to test and inform your creativity and innovative thinking are offered. One such opportunity is the Accelerator Project, a real-world project carried out in partnership with a corporate client to develop solutions to a significant strategic issue using artificial intelligence and/or machine learning.

Also running throughout the programme is a supporting package of activities provided by the MBA’s Leadership Development Programme. These directly address the personal and professional skills needed for you to perform effectively in each challenge, and for the next stage, and future stages, of your career.

MBA with Artificial Intelligence course structure

The Cardiff MBA with Artificial Intelligence is structured around a series of six challenge-focused modules, based on cross-functional and action-based scenarios typically found in the workplace. The learning required to engage with the challenges is experienced in immersive blocks designed to stimulate your curiosity, inform your process of enquiry and strengthen the application of your learning.

Contemporary integrated themes run through all modules, such as the future of work, responsible leadership and digital transformation. You’ll also study a specialist module on Artificial Intelligence, taught within the Data Science Academy at Cardiff University’s School of Computer Science and Informatics.

Core module themes include:

  • Global Challenges and Strategic Decision Making
  • People Perspectives
