A good honours degree in Law (2:2 or equivalent), although applicants with other appropriate qualifications will be considered. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).

This course is suitable for students, lawyers, policy makers and others wishing to study Intellectual Property Law from an international and comparative perspective. The course is suitable for UK and overseas students. It will offer knowledge and expertise for a career with enhanced opportunities for legal or business practice as a result of intellectual property law specialism.

Intellectual property law is a central part of an innovative and creative economy and it has become central to government and international policy. There is a need for expertise in the field for lawyers, policy makers and others involved with developing a knowledge economy.

Our LLM is designed to meet the needs of students and lawyers who wish to study intellectual property law from an international and comparative perspective. The course provides an overview of current issues in specific areas of intellectual property law, both domestic, EU and international, with a critical evaluation of current and proposed regulation.
