Course content

With no experience of gardening required, both beginner and green-fingered learners will benefit from the Herb Gardening Diploma Course. Whether your intentions are to add tasty, fresh herbs to recipes or to utilise their medicinal properties, this course will provide you with the information you need to really understand the cultivation of herbs – their various types and how to grow, care for and protect them from pests and disease. We even provide insight into using herbs within recipes and herbal remedies.

The Herb Gardening Diploma Course eases you into the subject with an overview of the practice’s history, the benefits of growing and harvesting herbs, common herbs you may like to grow, and the different types of herb gardens you may wish to cultivate.

It’s then onto the practical side of things, as you learn how to plan and prepare your herb garden. We’ll walk you through techniques for indoor and outdoor planting, including a look at vertical and hydroponic gardening. You’ll also learn how to keep garden pests at bay, prevent and treat common plant diseases, and attract wildlife that is beneficial to your herb garden.

The course concludes with a look at how to use your herbs in recipes and herbal remedies.

By studying this course, you will:

  • Become familiar with various herb types and their uses
  • Learn how to prepare and plant a herb garden
  • Discover how to protect herbs from pests and disease
  • Understand herb use in recipes and medicinal remedies
