Course content
Herbs have been used for healing for centuries, from mental health to cardiovascular issues and everything in between. Take the Herbal Compendium Diploma Course and you’ll learn how to select and use the most effective herbal remedies for a wide range of health issues.
You’ll begin the course by spending some time getting to know the multi-use nature of herbs and becoming familiar with their constituents. You’ll discover the various ways in which they can be prepared and used, and when to use each type of preparation.
Stress, tension and anxiety form the basis of many of the body’s health issues. As such, the nervous system is the first area that you will cover in the course – forming the foundation of your herbal compendium knowledge.
From there, you’ll continue around the body, acquiring a good feel for the range and nature of the herbs used to treat issues, an understanding of how the same therapeutic actions can be applied in very different circumstances, and skills in preventative healing.
You’ll discover how to ease common complaints such as muscle aches, colds and indigestion, but you also have the knowledge to carry out much deeper healing in chronic issues such as arthritis, IBS and endometriosis.
You’ll learn how to keep your heart and blood vessels healthy, manage your mental wellbeing and promote healthy digestion, ensuring tissue nourishment across the body. You’ll also discover how to care for your gut microbiome, thereby promoting good physical and mental health.
By working your way through the course, you will develop a range of practical skills such as preparing herbal teas, making syrups, tinctures, powders, compresses, ointments and even creams.
By studying this course, you will:
- Understand herbs and how to use them in healing
- Become familiar with the issues of the body and the herbal remedies to use for each
- Learn how herbs can be used for preventative care
- Be able to prepare various herbal remedies
