The Art Business Certificate is designed for newcomers wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of all aspects of art business as well as giving access to up-to-date information and new analytical methods for those already in the art world as professionals. The course is modular with each module designed to complement one another to give an overall picture of the industry. The sessions are presented by carefully selected specialists including artists, auctioneers, curators, dealers, economists, historians, journalists, lawyers, marketeers and valuers.
Each module is made up of 5 evening sessions and meets once a week on Tuesday evenings. Sessions are delivered by leaders in the field, and will provide insights into particular areas of the art world. At the end of each session, questions and further discussion are invited from the student body.
Those attending ten or more sessions may apply for the Foundation Certificate which is attained after submitting an essay. Beyond that, those attending all twenty-five sessions may write a further essay for an Advanced Certificate.
