Course content

The MSc in Art, Law and Business is a 15-month, full-time, cross-disciplinary postgraduate programme which equips students with an advanced understanding of the international art markets. It is unique in combining three challenging and intensively taught components in Art History, Art Law and Art Business

The programme focusses on how the art market functions from both a commercial and legal perspective, while maintaining a critical and intellectual understanding of the cultural objects around which the market turns. It is a programme which emphasises the development of both practical and critical skills through its integrated lecture and seminars program, work placement experience and engaging study trips.

This professional practice is underpinned by a significant work placement within Christie’s, and it benefits from unparalleled relationships with art market professionals and art world practitioners. The course is intensive, stimulating and demanding, taught via core lectures, seminars and tutorials delivered by faculty, academics, lawyers and other art-world professionals.
