Entry requirements

Applications are welcomed from a wide range of disciplines with a first or second class honours degree, applicants must show an awareness of health or health-related care issues. Applicants must demonstrate competency in spoken and written English and numeracy through GCSE Maths and English at A*-C. We also take into account previous work experience. You will be required to have occupational health and enhanced Criminal records checks. References may be requested. Successful completion of Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) is required. Due to the high demand for places on NHS funded courses, as well as meeting the stated academic entry requirements, applicants will be required to attend a selection day held at City University London. You will be asked to complete the NHS Constitution Assessment, which is used to demonstrate that your values match those of the NHS Constitution.

This Postgraduate Diploma in Child Nursing prepares you for a fulfilling and rewarding career in caring for children and young people and supporting families through their child's illness. It allows you to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.
Children's Nursing is a fulfilling and challenging profession, caring for children up to the age of 16. You need to be versatile and resilient as you will be caring for children who have acute or long-term health or mental health problems, special needs or who are terminally ill. It is essential that as a children's nurse you can empower children of all ages and provide support to families.

Full-time EU: £Tuition fees are paid by the NHS. Scholarships: The School of Health Sciences believes that exceptional academic and clinical performance should be recognised and rewarded. We have several scholarships available for students starting on our courses this September and January: City University postgraduate scholarships, City University London Graduate Loyalty Discount, School of Health Sciences International Excellence Scholarships (for international students only)
