This joint award builds on City's longstanding expertise and significant international reputation in Creative Writing and Publishing. The course can be taken as a one-year full-time or two-year part time taught Masters programme, and shares modules with the MA Creative Writing and the MAs in Publishing and International Publishing.
If you have experience of writing or working in publishing (or a related field), and would like to develop your skills further, this course is designed for you. If you are interested in producing your own creative writing, and learning how writers engage with the publishing industry and even work within it, this course will develop the skills you need. Creative Writing and Publishing MA enables you to aspire to a professional role that will match your interests and draw upon all of your talents.
This course will appeal to both experienced and aspiring writers who wish to gain the knowledge and skills relevant to professional practice in commercial settings which produce creative content for both print and digital formats. You will be introduced to the rapidly developing world of self-publishing. By offering a digital publishing element, you will learn more about the increasing importance of social media and web publishing in both finding and sustaining your own community of readers.
Fees and funding
Full-time EU: £9,000, Part-time EU: £5,000 per year, Full-time Non EU: £15,000, Part-time Non EU: £7,500 per year
Scholarships: Graduate Loyalty Discount: The School of Arts & Social Sciences offer a 10% discount on tuition fees for all City graduates, Scholarship opportunities will be available for UK/EU and international students looking to study postgraduate courses in the School of Arts & Social Sciences starting in September 2015.
