Course content

Healthcare is the world’s single largest industry, with a global turnover of more than $5 trillion, a global workforce of 60 million, and an impact on every man, woman and child on the planet.

It is a natural focus for journalists. In almost every country health and healthcare are staple issues for media reporting, yet very few journalists covering health and healthcare have any specialist training in what is a potentially complex and wide-ranging area. This MA aims to fill part of that gap in knowledge.

This course has been developed with your future employability as its focus, by choosing to study at Coventry you will benefit from:

  • a course that incorporates the Contemporary Issues in Health module in which you join with health professionals on MSc courses;
  • the opportunity to gain relevant experience in a print, web or broadcast media workplace, giving a real world context for the skills and techniques you have acquired;
  • the University’s established expertise in the field of Health, through the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
