Course content

The MSc in Engineering Management is a one-year full-time taught postgraduate masters course aimed at ambitious engineers who aspire to a senior role involving technical and strategic management responsibilities. It is ideal for recent graduates hoping to make their first move into engineering management, or for established professional engineers who wish to make a switch into a management role and must extend their knowledge beyond their specific technical field into management and business.
The course places an emphasis on those key areas of modern management required by engineers entering their first management role and also offers opportunities for technical advancement through a choice of elective modules in specialist areas of engineering.
Graduates of the programme are well suited for either a management position within an engineering company or a more technically intensive role in a business setting, contributing to leadership in innovation and operations as well as helping set and implement strategic business decisions.
An International course route is also available (tuition fee reduction applies). This is delivered in partnership with Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), Thailand, and offers a unique opportunity for students to study either one or two semesters of the course at a high-quality university in Bangkok yet still gain a British university Master's award. This route offers added insight into Asian management techniques and is ideal for candidates who seek a global perspective on their studies.
