Entry requirements
For MPhil or MPhil/PhD, applicants normally have at least a 2:1 honours degree from a British University or equivalent academic or professional qualifications. Additionally, PhD applicants normally have a UK Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, which should have been awarded within five years prior to application.

Course content
The International Centre for Sports History and Culture is staffed by internationally renowned historians of sport and recreation with wide ranging interests in many aspects of sport and related fields. Recent PhD subjects have included; sport and disability; the Olympic Movement; women's football; and the international migration of soccer players.
Department specialisms
Research interests include: the question of sport and national identity; the history of leisure; class, culture and sport; sport and the media.
