MPhil - Applicants normally have at least an upper second class honours degree from a British university. PhD - In addition to the above, PHD applicants normally have a UK masters degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, awarded within the last 5 years prior to application, including a component dealing with research methods. For both qualifications an equivalent academic or professional qualification, including international qualifications, may be acceptable. If English is not your first language you will be required to achieve a minimum score of 6.5 IELTS (or equivalent) prior to entry onto the programme.

Our Centre for English Language Learning offers free pre-sessional English language courses for international students and ongoing support throughout your studies. We are one of 44 HE institutions in the UK accredited by the British Council. In the ISB, our English language support also received high rankings by international students.
Fees and fundingDe Montfort University do not currently have scholarships available, but we are happy to consider self funded applicants for a research degree.
