Generally you should have a good honours degree in any subject other than law or a non - qualifying law degree. You need to prove to us that you meet the SRA’s requirements for admission to the GDL, and provide evidence for any exemptions that you may request from individual subjects. You need to do that before you start the GDL by providing any documentation we require. A Certificate of Academic Standing is required from the BSB if you are going to undertake the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) following the GDL. We recommend that you request this before embarking on the GDL. Please contact either for further details. If English is not your first language, an IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent is normally required.
