Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements: - Bachelor degree in any discipline and 3 years relevant work experience^ or - Deakin Business and Law Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQP) and 3 years relevant work experience^ or - Masters degree in any discipline and 3 years relevant work experience^ or - Graduate certificate in a related discipline and 5 years relevant work experience^ ^ Business experience either in a marketing role or in a position with business responsibilities in a marketing related field, such as communications, advertising, market research and/or sales. English Language requirement: IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no band score less than 6) or equivalent

Course content

The Master of Marketing is designed for graduates who are looking for a specialist, professional course that will build upon their current experience.

It provides an understanding of the theoretical, practical, and research frameworks that underpin marketing and develops the research, strategy and communication skills that are crucial in each of the key areas of marketing. This is complemented by business studies in areas such as leadership, process management and financial interpretation.

The course develops knowledge and skills in areas such as marketing research and integrated marketing communication, enabling graduates to analyse, plan, implement and control marketing activities in a variety of organisations.

Distinctive electives are available in sports marketing, arts marketing and retailing. The course also allows students the opportunity to undertake an internship.
