Applicants require a three year bachelor degree in any discipline, or a teaching degree in any area other than Early Childhood. Applicants who do not meet the English language entry requirement may fulfil this requirement with a score of 7.0 in the IELTS (Academic) test, with no less than 7.0 in any of the four skill areas, and a score of no less than 7.5 in speaking and listening. Alternatively, applicants may meet the English language requirement with an internet-based TOEFL result of 100 with a minimum of 25 in speaking and writing, and a minimum of 22 in reading and listening.

Early Childhood Education focuses on birth to 5 years. As Australia is in the midst of significant growth in the early childhood education sector, Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) has been developed to address the potential shortage of trained early childhood teachers.
