An applicant for registration as a teacher must meet the standards of competence in both written and oral communication in the English language. If you completed all four years of the higher education study required for registration in English at an institution in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, The United States of America, Canada or the Republic of Ireland, you will meet the requirements for English language competence. For International students: If you did not complete all four years of the higher education study you are presenting for consideration for registration as outlined above, you will be required to undertake one of the approved English language tests. Deakin University offers admission to postgraduate courses through a number of Admission categories. In all categories of admission, selection is based primarily on academic merit as indicated by an applicant's previous academic record.

Scholarships are for full-time, on-campus international students at Deakin and are awarded on the basis of academic merit.
